The Sri Lanka legends, Kumara Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene served the national cricket team brilliantly during their playing days. The duo’s 624-run Test partnership against South Africa in 2006 is the highest in the longest format of the sport. Following Sri Lanka’s unsuccess in the 2015 World Cup, both players hung up their boots.

In December 2011, Jayawardene and Sangakkara allied with the popular Sri Lankan chef, Dharshan Munidasa, and launched their food outlet named, Ministry of Crab (MOC), in Colombo. The restaurant is aimed to promote and celebrate Sri Lanka’s seafood. In 2019, MOC entered India, with the launch of their Mumbai outlet.

So far, MOC has registered its presence in seven cities of the world. Along with Colombo and Mumbai, MOC is providing its services to the food lovers of Maldives, Bangkok, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Manila as well.
