But he failed to get chances in senior cricket in South Africa and moved to the Netherlands to play club cricket. After meeting ICC residency qualifications, he played for the Netherlands and made his ODI debut in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 against New Zealand.<o:p></o:p>

10. Kusal Perera<o:p></o:p>

Sybrand Engelbrecht<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-players/sybrand-engelbrecht/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"></a> was born in Johannesburg South Africa and played U19 cricket for Proteas as well. He featured in the South Africa youth team in the U19 World Cup in 2008 in Malaysia and his terrific fielding and athletic catches drew comparison with Jonty Rhodes.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>
But he failed to get chances in senior cricket in South Africa and moved to the Netherlands to play club cricket. After meeting ICC residency qualifications, he played for the Netherlands and made his ODI debut in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 against New Zealand.<o:p></o:p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal">10. Kusal Perera<o:p></o:p></h3>

Kusal Perera is a known Sri Lankan opener whose batting style is very similar to that of legend Sanath Jayasuriya. Perera was also part of Sri Lanka’s U19 World Cup squad in 2008, which was captained by Asahn Priyanjan. It featured other future Lankan stars like Dinesh Chandimal, Thisara Perera, and Lahiru Thirimanne.<o:p></o:p>
Perera made his Sri Lanka debut in 2013 and has played 22 Tests, 112 ODIs, and 63 T20Is. He has also captained the side in ODIs. He is also part of the Lankan side in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 tournament.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal">9. Reeza Hendricks<o:p></o:p></h3>

He has played two matches and scored 97 runs with a best of 85.<o:p></o:p>
Hendricks was then part of the squad led by Wayne Parnell in Malaysia. He then had to wait a long time to make his South Africa debut, which came in 2018. And thus far, Hendricks has 31 ODIs and 54 T20Is for Proteas but has not cemented his place in the XI.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

New Zealand Test captain Tim Southee was part of the Kiwis’ U19 World Cup squad in Malaysia and graduated from the same class as Kane Williamson, Corey Anderson, Michael Bracewell, and others. One of the most talented pacers from New Zealand, Southee made his New Zealand debut the same year in 2008. Thus far, Southee has played 94 Tests, 154 ODIs, and 112 T20Is for New Zealand with 370, 210, and 142 wickets respectively.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>
<h3 class="MsoNormal">7. Chris Woakes<o:p></o:p></h3>

England all-rounder Chris Woakes featured in the U19 World Cup 2008 in Malaysia and was also a part of the 2019 World Cup-winning Eoin Morgan side as well. In England’s abysmal ICC World Cup 2023 campaign, Woakes has picked 8 wickets and scored 76 runs. <o:p></o:p>
Woakes, who made his England senior debut in 2013, has done well for himself. In 48 Tests, he has 149 wickets and one century to his name. In 119 ODIs, he has 167 wickets and in 29 T20Is, Woakes has picked 27 wickets to his name.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

One of the leading pacers in the world at the moment, Josh Hazlewood has taken 10 wickets so far in the ICC World Cup 2023 for Australia. He has filled the boots of Glenn McGrath pretty well for the Kangaroos and bowled economically as well, with 5.35 as his economy. <o:p></o:p>
Interestingly, Hazlewood was also a part of the U19 World Cup 2008 in Malaysia as he played for Australia. He made his ODI debut for Australia in 2010 and Test debut in 2014 and so far has 238 Test wickets in 63 matches. In 79 ODIs, he has 123 wickets and in 41 T20Is, Hazlewood has 58 wickets.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

Burly all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has not done much in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023 as he has been hampered by an injury. He has only played 4 games and scored 81 runs and picked 3 wickets. For Australia in his career so far, has played 67 ODIs and 54 T20Is. He was also Josh Hazlewood’s teammate for Australia in the ICC U19 World Cup 2008 in Malaysia and had to wait until 2015 to make his Australia senior debut in ODIs and T20Is, both against England.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

One of the best modern-era left-arm pacers, Trent Boult had featured in New Zealand’s U19 World Cup side in 2008 in Malaysia. He then honed his skills for a few years, before making his senior debut in 2011 and since then, Boult has been a leader of New Zealand pace attack. <o:p></o:p>
He has played 78 Tests, taking 317 wickets, in 110 ODIs, he has 206 wickets and in 55 T20Is, Boult picked 74 wickets. He recently withdrew his name from New Zealand central contracts and went freelance in T20 leagues. But returned to the BlackCaps side in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023, where he has 10 wickets in 8 matches.<o:p></o:p>

Captain of the New Zealand team in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023, Kane Williamson had also captained the youth side in U19 World Cup 2008 in Malaysia. A talented batter groomed to become a modern-era legend, Williamson made a grand Test debut in 2010 with a century. And since then, he hasn’t looked back.<o:p></o:p>
Before the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023, in 94 Tests, Williamson had 8124 runs with 28 centuries. In 162 ODIs, he has 6632 runs with 13 centuries. And in 87 T20Is, he has 2464 runs. He also led New Zealand to their maiden ICC Trophy win when they defeated India to win the World Test Championship in 2021.<o:p></o:p>

Of course, then he was a leg-spinner and not the batting sensation he has gone on to become.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>
Smith went on to make his Test debut against Pakistan in 2010 at Lord’s and till now has 9320 runs in 102 Tests, 5259 runs in 152 ODIs, and 1008 runs in 63 T20Is. He has a total of 44 centuries but averages 58.61 in Tests. In the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023, Steve Smith has made 205 runs in 7 matches thus far.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>

Jadeja has played 67 Tests, 194 ODIs, and 64 T20Is, taking 275, 218, and 51 wickets thus far. He also has 2804 Test runs with 3 centuries and 2747 ODI runs with 13 fifties to his name.
