A father plays an influential role in a child’s life, and the same happens on a cricket field. Eminent cricketing names such as Mohinder Amarnath, Heath Streak, Chris Cairns, and Shaun Pollock were influenced by their fathers and followed their footsteps, entering the cricketing world.

All these notable names served their national teams exceptionally and took their fathers’ legacy forward successfully. Some names also became bigger figures. Late Kevin Curran, who played 11 international matches for Zimbabwe, couldn’t see his younger son Sam Curran’s debut for England. Currently, Sam is one of the best all-rounders in white-ball cricket and can be said that he has surpassed his father in terms of success in this game.

Similarly, Peter Pollock’s son Shaun Pollock did a magnificent job for South Africa from 1995 to 2008 and ended his career as one of the most successful bowlers for the Proteas. In the history of the sport, some intriguing father-son incidents have occurred that attracted a lot of eyes.

In the third Test of the Ashes 2023 at Headingley Cricket Ground, Mitchell Marsh was inducted into Australia’s playing XI and was his first appearance in red-ball cricket in four years. On the difficult batting surface, Marsh stood at the crease and hit a ton to help his team put up a decent score of 263 runs on the board. Eventually, his 118-run knock went in vain as the hosts England won that game with three wickets in hand, but an adorable picture of Marsh’s family went viral during the game.

With the completion of Marsh’s century in the game, his father Geoff Marsh and elder sibling Shaun Marsh were seen celebrating his century wildly at a bar in Bali, Indonesia. Marsh’s brother Shaun shared the video on a social media site, in which he along with his family was watching the game.
