The Asia Cup has witnessed many high-voltage run chases in the last 14 editions with India-Pakistan finding a special mention. India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in an edge-of-the-seat thriller in their latest Asia Cup 2022 fixture at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, August 28. While the Indian team were made to fight hard in order to earn their victory, the five-wicket win will definitely go down in Asia Cup history as one of the most successful run chases.

This was one of those instances where a team pulled off an unlikely win in the Asia Cup while chasing despite the odds being stacked against them. There have been a few of such instances as well where the chasing teams have gone on to do the unthinkable when they were least expected to get the job done. Without further ado, here's a look at five of those occasions.

5. India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup T20 2022, Dubai (148/5)

Put into bat by India, the Pakistan innings seemed to be falling apart despite Mohammad Rizwan's valiant 43 before tail-ender Shanawaz Dahani's cameo knock propelled them to a fighting total of 147 which gave something for the Pakistan bowlers to bowl at. India in reply got off to a disastrous start with KL Rahul walking back without troubling the scorers.

Even Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma survived an early scare from Naseem Shah and then Kohli went berserk in the Powerplay overs as he scored 35 runs including three fours and a six before he and Rohit were removed by spinner Mohammad Nawaz. India were in a spot of bother after Suryakumar Yadav walked back for a run-a-ball 18.

The middle-order duo of Ravindra Jadeja (35) and Hardik Pandya (33*) then kept India in the hunt with a 52-run stand for the fifth wicket. Jadeja was bowled by Nawaz on the first delivery of the final over before Pandya clobbered him for a maximum to help the Men in Blue register a famous win with two balls to spare.
