Among the current lot of players. Mukesh is the most senior pro in terms of age as well as domestic experience. He's one of the three pillars of Bengal's bowling attack. His trio with Ishan Porel and Akash Deep has done really well for Bengal. Their formidable bowling attack is one of the reasons behind Bengal's recent Ranji success.

Last year his outing against NZ 'A' was pretty impressive. He's more like Josh Hazelwood, he will bowl relentlessly with control and accuracy. He got an India call-up based on his domestic performances when India took on South Africa in a five-match ODI series at home right ahead of the T20 World Cup.

He can be a good red-ball bowler, when you need someone to bowl accurately and wait for batters to commit mistakes. He made his IPL debut in the ongoing edition for Delhi Capitals. Like his franchise, he's still in search of his rhythm and with time he will get better.

His journey has seen a lot of ups and downs while shifting his base from Bihar to Kolkata. He got signed for 5.5 crore, which made headlines after the IPL 2023 auction. Now, he needs to settle in and keep on doing what he does best- his bowling. He has to wait for the right time, which can come sooner than expected but for that, he needs to be ready.
