In the history of Test cricket, bowlers’ batting efforts have gone unnoticed that's why it’s essential to discuss five part-time batters who notched up the most runs without fifties.
4. Fred Trueman
Fred Trueman played for England from 1952 to 1965 and in 1964, he also wrote history, becoming the first Test bowler to take 300 wickets. The right-arm bowler ended his red-ball career with 307 wickets in 127 innings of 67 matches.
Trueman also displayed efficiency with his bat for the English side several times during his Test career. The right-handed player amassed 981 runs in 85 innings of 67 matches without a fifty. In August 1958, he registered his best batting innings of an unbeaten 39 against New Zealand at the Oval.
