India and England rivalry took a new turn after the NatWest series in 2002. It was the first time in the past nine finals that India managed to win a final of a series involving three or more nations. The celebration from then India captain, Sourav Ganguly in the Lord’s balcony provided fans from both the countries look forward to any bilateral series which involved both the countries.
Over the years, several players have stamped their authority as the series’ were played back and forth in the United Kingdom as well as the Indian subcontinent. But some batters showed consistency at different levels altogether and are part of the elusive list of batters with the most runs in the history of ODI cricket between India and England. It is worth noting that, cricket which was originated in England and adopted by India as their cherished sport, has a rivalry of its own till date.

5. Suresh Raina
Initially termed as left-handed Sachin Tendulkar by fans, Raina owned the world stage with some fiery knocks in the middle order. In a career spanning for over 12 years, his highest score against them came in August 2014 in Cardiff and he signed off with a brilliant 100 off just 75 balls while being adjudged as Man of the Match.
In between he gave some spectacular performance but was not able to reach the three-figure mark. He was stranded in the 80s five times but that has put him in the fifth-highest run-getter against England. He has played 38 ODIs against the English and batted in 37 innings scoring 1207 runs at an average of 41.62 with one century and 11 fifties.
