3. Sabbir Rahman vs Sri Lanka, 2016 Asia Cup

Bangladesh clashed with Sri Lanka in the fifth game of the 2016 Asia Cup in Mirpur. After opting to bat, the Bangla Tigers were off to an awful start as they lost both the openers for naught inside the first two overs. The Sri Lankan bowlers were on top with Mashrafe Mortaza & co. reeling at 2 for 2.

Sabbir Rahman took the attack to the opposition right from the get-go and put the opposition under the pump. The ace batter smashed 80 runs off 54 deliveries and courtesy of which Bangladesh posted a fighting total of 147. His superb knock consisted of ten fours and three glorious maximums.

After Sabbir’s heroics with the bat, the Bangladesh bowlers came to the party and dented Sri Lanka at regular intervals. As a result, Angelo Mathews & co. were kept down to 124 in 20 overs and the Bangla Tigers won the game by 23 runs. The Rajshahi-born was adjudged the Player of the Match for his match-winning half-century.
