He was specifically recalled into the side after a lengthy absence as he wanted to play in the tournament. <o:p></o:p>

Bill Voce formed a terrifying new ball partnership with legendary pacer Harold Larwood for England in the 1930s. He is best remembered for terrorizing Australian batters in the infamous bodyline Ashes of 1932-33. Voce played in twenty-seven Tests, scoring 308 runs at an average of 13.39, and taking 98 wickets at an average of 27.88.<o:p></o:p>
Notably, Voce was born on August 8, 1909, in Nottinghamshire and his England teammate on the tour of the West Indies in 1930 was the legendary all-rounder, Wilfred Rhodes.
