Bill Voce formed a terrifying new ball partnership with legendary pacer Harold Larwood for England in the 1930s. He is best remembered for terrorizing Australian batters in the infamous bodyline Ashes of 1932-33. Voce played in twenty-seven Tests, scoring 308 runs at an average of 13.39, and taking 98 wickets at an average of 27.88.

Notably, Voce was born on August 8, 1909, in Nottinghamshire and his England teammate on the tour of the West Indies in 1930 was the legendary all-rounder, Wilfred Rhodes. Interestingly, the then 53-year-old Rhodes, playing his final Test series, had made his England debut in 1899, full ten years before Voce was born.
