3. AB de Villiers
AB de Villiers was one of those players who made heads turn every time he stepped onto the cricket field. He demolished bowling attacks with his 360-degree stroke play and made world cricket his own. ODI cricket was his stronger suit where he smashed 9577 runs in 228 matches at a strike rate of 101.09.
de Villiers also stamped his authority in the cash-rich league and emerged as one of the greats in the league. The former South African cricketer took the attack to the opposition right from the get-go and played many blistering knocks for the side slotting in at the middle order.
The Pretoria-born played 184 IPL games and notched up 5162 runs that too at a stunning strike rate of 151.68. de Villiers tonked 251 maximums in those outings. The legendary cricketer bid adieu to international cricket in 2018 and retired from all forms of cricket in November 2021.
