Sanju Samson might be seen strengthening the team as a wicketkeeper batter in the West Indies series. With the World Cup coming ahead, he will look to put up excellent shows with his bat and gain a spot in India’s team for the humongous ODI event. Samson played his last ODI game in November 2022 against New Zealand at Eden Park.

Since then, he hasn't played any ODI match but against the Caribbeans, he has a chance to showcase his mettle and grab the selectors’ attention towards himself. So far, the 28-year-old has played 11 ODIs, in which he accumulated 330 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of 104.76.

Currently, India are looking for an efficient wicketkeeper batter who could play his part excellently in the 2023 World Cup. Currently, the team management isn’t ensured about KL Rahul’s participation in the ODI extravaganza while Ishan Kishan hasn’t been consistent with his bat. Samson, who has played a lot of domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL), has a chance to prove himself and earn the wicketkeeper batter’s spot in the squad.
