The IPL might have its fair share of successful franchises, but some teams are regarded as underachievers in the tournament. One of those teams is the Delhi Capitals (DC), who are still looking for their first title in the ongoing 18th edition of the Indian Premier League.

The last 17 editions have been a roller coaster ride for the Capitals where though they have made it to the playoffs six times they have failed to get their hands on the title. Their best year was in 2020 where they made it to their first ever IPL final but unfortunately faced a disappointing defeat against Mumbai Indians.

KL Rahul and Axar Patel have proven their ability to perform under pressure in the past. Both of them had a great Champions Trophy as well and will be looking continue with the same performances for the Delhi Capitals. With the addition of Rahul the Capitals also have batter who could not only anchor the innings but also win games for the team when it is required.

Deep and dangerous batting lineup

The one thing the Capitals were missing in the last two seasons was the amount of depth in their batting. The last match showed batters like Ashutosh Sharma and Vipraj Nigam helping the side out when things seem to not go to plan for the team. The likes of Tristan Stubbs, Faf Du Plessis and Rahul can bat at any position if required which gives them a lot of options while setting their batting lineup.

It is always said that Batters might win you games, but it is the bowlers that win you tournaments. This is where the Capitals have some talented bowlers in the setup who are capable of taking wickets at any stage of the game. The likes of Mitchell Starc, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohit Sharma are some of the names who are capable of breaking partnerships in the game. There are also bowlers like Axar Patel who can keep the batters quiet.
