7. Axar Patel
Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja didn’t feature in India’s 15-member T20I team against the West Indies. In Jadeja’s spot, selectors have shown faith in Axar Patel to strengthen the team with his all-round talent. Earlier, in January, this year, Axar became the Player of the Series for his superb performance against Sri Lanka in the three-match T20I series.
With the bat, he became the second-leading run-scorer for India in the competition, scoring 117 runs in three games at a strike rate of 195.00. While with the ball, he took three wickets at a decent economy of 7.40. This year, Axar exuded confidence with his bat and ball while serving Delhi Capitals (DC) in IPL 2023.
He scored 283 runs for Capitals in 14 matches at a strike rate of 139.40 and became the second-leading run-getter in the tournament. Talking about his bowling performance, the left-arm spinner hunted 11 batters in 13 innings at a thrifty economy of 7.19.
