Women's T20 World Cup 2023: Flop XI
Certain players were far from their best in the Women's T20 World Cup 2023.
8. Jess Kerr
Jess Kerr is one the dependable fast bowlers in New Zealand’s cricketing circles. She has featured in 25 ODIs and bagged 32 wickets at an economy of 4.01. Coming to the shortest format, the 25-year-old has picked up 14 scalps in 22 matches at an economy of 5.62.
Kerr has been New Zealand’s tone-setter with the new ball, making the ball talk at the start of the innings and providing her side with early breakthroughs. However, the ace pacer was not able to set the T20 World Cup 2023 on fire with her bowling displays.
Kerr featured in four matches in the high-profile competition and could take only two at an economy of 6.25. Therefore, the Wellington-born could not make a great new-ball pairing with Lea Tahuhu, and hence, New Zealand could not pile on the pressure over the opposition.
