8. The Netherlands- 5/10
The Netherlands returned to the World Cup after 12 years and this time, they have succeeded in impressing avid cricket enthusiasts with their stunning 38-run victory against South Africa in Dharamshala. The superb win over the Proteas clearly displays that the Dutch side has a bright future ahead in the cricketing world.
The Dutch team has looked decent in all departments of the game in this tournament. As a fielding side, they have looked vigilant and disciplined but still have to perfect themselves to create an impact in this competition. Against New Zealand, their debutant Sybrand Engelbrecht dropped Daryl Mitchell on 22, and following the dropped sitter from the 35-year-old, Mitchell added 26 more runs and went back to the pavilion after scoring 48 runs.
In the scintillating victory against the Proteas, the Orange Army dominated Temba Bavuma and his men in all areas but Bas de Leede, who dropped dangerous David Miller on 23, could’ve cost them.
