6. Sri Lanka- 6/10
Sri Lanka are another Asian side along with Bangladesh which failed to perform up to the expectations. The 1996 champions are looking fine in the batting department but their bowling attack is failing consistently against quality teams. Unlike their bowling attack, their fielding unit is striving to make a fine contribution.
Against the Proteas, their bowlers gave away 428 runs in 50 overs. In the first innings of the match in Delhi, Sri Lanka fielders grabbed chances successfully when they got and diving efforts were also seen in those 50 overs but eventually, their fielders didn’t get enough support from the bowling department.
Against Pakistan, Dasun Shanaka & Co. failed to defend 344 runs but they gave a tough time to the Men in Green. At the beginning of Pakistan’s innings, Kusal Mendis took an excellent running catch to assist his colleague Dilshan Madushanka to get rid of the opening batter Imam-ul-Haq.
