The ODI World Cup 2023 kicked off with the contest between England and New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In the next one-and-a-half months, all the ten teams will strive to be at their best to take the coveted trophy home. The marquee One-Day International (ODI) competition is expected to be dominated by batters so keeping that in mind, all sides will want their players to light up the tournament with their batting performances.

In the 2019 World Cup edition, it was seen how Ben Stokes showed his spunky side as a finisher in the final against New Zealand and helped his team lift the distinguished World Cup trophy for the first time. This time, all teams will want their finishers to prepare themselves mentally to display their belligerent sides with their bats in crunch situations. Amidst the ongoing World Cup action, let’s rank the best finisher from each side.

Here is the ranking of the best finisher of each 2023 World Cup side

The Netherlands skipper Scott Edwards bats in the middle order and his job will be to play the role of a finisher in the team. During the World Cup qualifier 2023, the Dutch skipper led his team from the front and ended up as the second-leading run-getter for his side with 314 runs in seven innings of eight matches at a magnificent strike rate of 112.14.

In the second match against the United States of America (USA), Edwards played a captain’s knock and took his team home. While chasing 212, the Dutch team was four down at a score of 83. Edwards rescued his side from the difficult situation with his unbeaten knock of 67 off 60.

Another notable knock from Edwards’ bat came against Sri Lanka in the Super Six round. This time, the right-handed batter scored an unbeaten 67 off 68 to help his team go close to the target of 214. Although the Dutch team lost the game by 21 runs, Edwards received appreciation for his endeavours. His batting records indicate that he might turn out to be an ideal match-finisher for the Dutch side in this World Cup.
