4. Harmanpreet Kaur

Harmanpreet Kaur, though looked excellent as a skipper in the 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup, didn't manage to put up a remarkable performance with the bat except for in the semi-final. Talking about her batting performance in the tournament, the veteran scored 118 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 103.50.

At the WPL auction, her name went under the hammer at a base price of INR 50 lakh. Noticing her vast experience, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC), Mumbai Indians (MI) and UP Warriors (UPWI) raised their bidding paddles to rope her into their squads. In the end, she went to MI at a huge price of INR 1.8 crore and will now be seen playing for the Mumbai-based franchise at the mega event.

Considering her international batting numbers, Kaur’s responsibility will be to reinforce the batting attack along with Nat Sciver-Brunt, Hayley Matthews, Yastika Bhatia and Amelia Kerr. Having delivered multiple memorable knocks in the past, Kaur's batting abilities are beyond any question. In the upcoming WPL, Indian and MI fans will hope to see Kaur in her true spirit, hitting the ball all around the park.
