Heather Knight has been a run-bank in the international arena. She has steadied the ship when the team has been in trouble and shepherded the innings beautifully. Also, the 32-year-old has shown the aggressive aspect of her game to change the course of the match in the favour of her side. Moreover, she has been handy with the ball and has chipped in with crucial wickets.

Knight has featured in 129 ODIs and amassed 3589 runs at an average of 36.25. On the bowling front, she has bagged 56 wickets at an economy of 4.35. She has been superb in T20Is too, notching up 1548 runs at a strike rate of 118.43 and taking 21 wickets at an economy of 5.81.

Besides her skills with bat and ball, Knight is an astute tactician of the game and has led England to many glorious triumphs. The veteran batter offers a complete package to any side and so, one would have thought that WPL teams would go all guns blazing to sign her. However, only the Bangalore franchise were interested in picking her and bought the Plymouth-born at her base price of INR 40 lakh.
