2. Kiran Navgire
For Kiran Navgire, 2022 was an important year as she broke into women’s international cricket due to her impressive batting show in the domestic circle. Playing three games in the 2022 Women’s T20 Challenge, she showcased her batting prowess scoring 69 runs with a half-century. Earlier, she smashed an unbeaten 162 for Manipur against Arunachal Pradesh in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy and set the record for the highest individual score. Currently, she is the only Indian player to notch more than 150 runs in an innings in the T20 format.
In September 2022, the 27-year-old joined the India Women’s team to feature in the three-match T20I series in England. During the tour, she got a chance to make her women’s international debut in the first T20I game against the hosts England but failed to contribute with her bat scoring only seven runs.
Till now, Navgire has played six WT20I games and scored 17 runs in four innings at a strike rate of 89.47. At the upcoming WPL auction, she will expect the franchises to sign her for the marquee event to be held in March; however, the middle-order batter’s less international experience and base price of INR 30 lakh could hamper her chances.
