WPL 2023: 5 uncapped players on whom franchises might spend huge bucks in auction
These players might grab the eyes of franchises at the auction due to their excellent cricketing skills and recent displays.
1. Shweta Sehrawat
In India’s successful campaign in the 2023 ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, Shweta Sehrawat contributed big with her batting. Scoring 297 runs with three half-centuries in seven matches at a brilliant strike rate of 139.43, she became the leading run-scorer in the tournament.
She lost the Player of the Tournament award to England Women’s Grace Scrivens but the 18-year-old received a lot of appreciation for her incredible display. The young talented batter has submitted her name to feature in the Player Auction of the WPL. The new batting sensation’s base price will be INR 10 lakh.
However, after considering her extraordinary batting ability, the franchise might show interest in him. On the auction table, the buyers may also contest with one another to get her services in the inaugural edition of the tournament.
