5. Harmanpreet Kaur
Mumbai Indians (MI) spent INR 1.8 crore on the current India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur at the 2023 Player Auction. The franchise locked horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC), and UP Warriorz (UPW) to sign her for the inaugural season. In the tournament, the veteran could also be seen leading the side.
Her captaincy record in T20Is is phenomenal as she has won 53 games for India out of 94 matches while leading the side. In four editions of the Women’s T20 Challenge, she led the Supernovas to three title victories and became the most successful skipper in the tournament.
Along with captaincy, Kaur will play an essential role for the team due to her batting. In the shortest form of the game, the 33-year-old is a reliable middle-order batter in the national team since 2009. In 2022, she was excellent with her bat hitting 524 runs with two fifties in 22 matches.
