6. Renuka Singh & Sahana Pawar
India team’s premier bowler, Renuka Singh, will help Megan Schutt and Ellyse Perry to make Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) bowling unit lethal. The talented India pacer registered her name in the auction at a base price of INR 50 lakh. However, the plucky India bowler fetched INR 1.5 crore from the franchise, thanks to her marvellous bowling skills.
RCB engaged in a bidding war with Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Giants (GG) to sign her for the mega T20 event to be held next month. So far, she has grabbed 24 wickets in national colours in 28 T20 Internationals, with her career best of 4/10. In January 2023, she also became the ICC Emerging Women’s Cricketer of the Year, courtesy of her remarkable bowling displays in white ball cricket in 2022.
Sahana Pawar, along with Preeti Bose, will spearhead the spin attack of RCB as the franchise bought the bowler at her basic price of INR 10 lakh. The 26-year-old displayed class in the Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy 2022-23. The stylish Karnataka player grabbed five wickets in four games at an economy of 5.50 and became the leading wicket-taker for her team India A.
