Currently, New Zealand Women’s Suzie Bates is the leading run-scorer in the WT20Is. The veteran has accumulated 3,683 runs with a century in 139 matches at a strike rate of 109.32. Despite being the player with the most runs in the shortest form of the sport, she registered her name for the WIPL 2023 auction at the basic price of INR 30 lakh.

However, Bates’s low base amount could become a chance for the franchise owners to make their day as she could be a perfect addition to any team. As an ideal all-rounder, she can deliver to her franchise with the ball as well.

The 35-year-old has participated in seven editions of the WBBL, of which she has compiled 2,056 runs in 86 matches at a strike rate of 104.37. In the 2017-18 season of the competition, she also smashed her maiden and only ton against Hobart Hurricanes Women.
