The WPL 2024 has concluded on a gold note. RCB women overcame DC women to become champions in the second edition of the league. There were many good matches in the league. All the matches took place either in Bangalore or in Delhi. It was an entertaining tournament where the fans witnessed some close matches. Most of the matches witnessed great turnout and the second edition of the league turned out to be a success.
The teams did not trust their players from the previous version. Some of the players were replaced by new players who were brought from the auction. Some of the players had great performances, while some were not that good. Some of the players seemed out of touch. Some of the players missed out on getting a chance to play due to the team combination and better options.
Here are the five retained players who missed out on playing 11 in the entire WPL 2024:
5. Issy Wong
Issy Wong was one of the best players in the WPL 2023. The star player claimed 15 wickets in ten matches at an average of 14, at a bowling SR of 13. She was the second-highest wicket-taker in the WPL 2023. However, as MI picked Shabnim Ismail in the WPL auction 2024, they opted to bench Wong. The English pacer played only a couple of games in the WPL 2024 when the South African got injured.
