The 2024 Women’s Premier League (WPL) concluded with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registering an eight-wicket victory against Delhi Capitals (DC) and lifting the trophy. RCB all-rounder Ellyse Perry broke into record books as the player to win the distinguished Orange Cap.

The RCB veteran hit the headlines for her scintillating performances and got rewarded for her heroics but along with the Aussie, some young names took advantage of the massive T20 platform and showcased their prowess. Noting some incredible performances from youngsters, let’s discuss five players who have become the talk of the town following the 2024 WPL edition.

In Bangalore’s scintillating campaign, Shreyanka Patil made a crucial contribution to the ball. She took 13 wickets in eight matches at an economy of 7.30 and ended up as the Purple Cap winner. Against DC in the final, she registered 4/12 figures in her 3.3-over spell and recorded her best bowling figures.

The 21-year-old was seen in excellent touch in the playoffs round as well. She chipped in with 2/16 figures in her team’s five-run win against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. RCB fans will always remember Perry’s remarkable performance but Patil’s bowling contribution to the massive success also shouldn’t be forgotten.
