The WPL Auction 2025 is set to be held in Bengaluru, the city of gardens, on Sunday, December 15. The auction for the third edition will see a total of 120 shortlisted players see their names go under the hammer. A maximum of 19 slots are to be filled, and not more than five overseas players could be picked from these.
As always, non-Indian players will have a key role to play in the bidding process, and teams with limited purses will have to spend wisely to build their best squad for the forthcoming edition of the tournament. Without further ado, let us have a look at the top three players who can earn big bucks at the auction table on Sunday.
Deandra Dottin (Base Price - INR 50 lakh)
West Indies’ attacking all-rounder Deandra Dottin had missed the inaugural two editions of the Women’s Premier League. In the 2023 season, she was picked up by Gujarat Giants, but made a controversial exit, as the franchise cited injury concerns. Dottin, however, stated that she was absolutely fit to play, but by the time, she was replaced with Australia’s Kim Garth. She went unsold at the subsequent auction.
Back in the reckoning, Dottin recently featured with Melbourne Renegades during the Women’s Big Bash League 2024. She ended the campaign with 148 runs to her name at a strike-rate of 151.02. Moreover, the Barbados-born also picked up 10 wickets in the season, and had a decent contribution in leading her side to triumph. This can make the WPL franchises look at bagging her services for the third edition of the cash-rich league. The 33-year-old experienced Caribbean player will be up for grabs, starting at a base price of INR 50 lakh.
