2. Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi Jaiswal is one of the best young batters in the country at the moment. His meteoric rise in the game is inspirational. The Mumbai star has made it big by overcoming extreme obstacles in life. The highly-rated batter has had a breakout campaign in IPL 2023, where he impressed everyone with his aggressive and consistent batting performances.
Playing for Rajasthan Royals, the left-handed batter scored 625 runs in 14 innings with five fifties and a century. Before the impressive campaign in the IPL, he had a good outing in the domestic circuit too. Jaiswal, who averages more than 80 in first-class cricket, played knocks of 213 and 144 in the Irani Trophy for Rest of India against Madhya Pradesh.
His performance in IPL 2023 saw him replace Ruturaj Gaikwad as India's backup opener for the ICC World Test Championship final. In the World Cup, India are likely to persist with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill as openers, but Jaiswal could be a good option as the backup opener.
