Cricket Australia officials visit JSCA stadium for inspection

Cricket Australia (CA) recently sent a team of four members to inspect the Test venue for one of the Test matches between India and Australia. Australia are scheduled to tour India for 4 Test matches in the coming month. Ranchi, the capital city of the state of Jharkhand, is scheduled to host a Test match during the tour. Cricket Australia (CA) had thus sent a four-member to inspect the ground at Ranchi.
The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) International Stadium Complex in Dhurwa, Ranchi will be hosting the match in the month of March. The four officials in the inspection panel were Adam Fraser (Senior Manager, Team Operations), Sean Carroll (Anti-corruption and Security Manager), Sean Cary (Head of Cricket operations) and Brendan Drew (Australian Cricketer’s Association).
The JSCA confirmed the visit of the CA officials in a press release recently. The release quoted that all facilities at the venue in Ranchi were clearly inspected. The key areas that were inspected by the officials ranged from the dressing room to the dining area. The on field conditions, that is the pitch and the surface, were also evaluated.
The press release quoted Priya Ojha, the Media Manager of JSCA as saying, “The tour of the facility started with a visit to the Dressing and Dining Area followed by a detailed inspection of the Pitch, Ground, Spectator’s galleries, Media Centre, Net practice area, Indoor Cricket Facility etc.”

In addition to these, the other key areas to be inspected were security and hospitality at the venue. The Assistant Secretary of JSCA, Mr. Debashish Chakraborty, also mentioned that the Cricket Australia officials inspected the Hotel Radison, the hotel where the visiting team usually stays in Ranchi. As per the reports in News18, the officials were happy with the arrangements. Ranchi has earlier hosted limited overs international matches in addition to IPL matches.
