The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is just around the corner and the excitement for the same is in the air. All of the teams have announced their playing 15-member squads for the tournament as well. The World Cup will be played from October 5 onwards and will be solely hosted by India for the first time.

Unfortunately, almost all of the teams are also dealing with injuries to some of their main players and are scrambling to find alternatives. Besides, they are also waiting for the new updates by medical staff on the injured players before finalizing their squads.

As per the ICC rules, all the participating teams had to name an initial squad by September 5. Teams can make as many changes to their initial squad as they want until September 27. By September 28, teams need to have their final squads ready. Any changes after that will require prior approval from the ICC.

Travis Head is one of the key members of Australia's squad ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023. He was recently participating in the South Africa limited-overs series in the rainbow nation and his injury came in the 4th ODI in Centurion.

Geral Coetzee’s fast-paced short ball thudded into Head’s left hand and the batter was in immense pain though he tried to bat through the pain, he had to retire hurt. Later the Australia coach confirmed that Head had suffered a fracture in his left hand and further scans will be needed to gauze the severity.
