Kane Williamson, though he has been named in New Zealand’s World Cup 2023 squad as captain, has not played a single game since injuring his knee during IPL 2023. Williamson, who had turned out for Gujarat Titans, suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee while attempting a catch.

He was ruled out of the tournament and had to undergo surgery in New Zealand for the same. He has batted in nets and the 33-year-old had been given two weeks to prove his fitness for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
