It goes without saying that MS Dhoni is one of the most popular cricketers, not only in India but also in other countries. During games, even overseas, the fans pack the stands in order to see the 37-year-old ply his trade, both as a batsman and behind the wickets. Most importantly, the experienced campaigner has never been short of energy and gives more than 100 percent on the pitch.
Virat Kohli, the current Indian captain, also resorts to the suggestions from the Jharkhand-born veteran in crunch moments and they have hardly backfired. He is extremely vocal and keeps on guiding the bowlers, especially the spinners and his pieces of advice have worked wonders for them. 2018 didn’t give him much to cheer as he was awfully out of form with the willow in hand.
He couldn’t deliver in important phases of a game. Nevertheless, Kohli backed him even as Dhoni attracted severe criticism from every nook and corner of the country. However, 2019 started on a grand note for Dhoni. The right-hander notched three half-centuries on the trot in the ODI series against Australia, all in run-chases, and bagged the Player of the Series award.

Dhoni recently played the ODI series against New Zealand where he didn’t flatter by any stretch of the imagination. He is currently on a break and would be back for the limited-overs series against Australia that is scheduled to start on Sunday, Wednesday, February 24 in Visakhapatnam with the first T20I.
He recently got himself a new haircut ahead of the international fixtures. A glimpse of his fan-following was seen when he made a public appearance for the All Stars Football Club for an exhibition event. The people blocked the roads in order to get a glimpse of their hero.
