Former Indian spinner Rahul Sharma has had the privilege of playing under some of the most renowned captains in the sport. Recently, Sharma opened up on the captaincy styles that have impressed him.
The Jalandhar-born named two captains under whom he has enjoyed playing the most. He mentioned legendary Indian skipper MS Dhoni under whom he played for the country and in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings. He also picked former Australian batter Adam Gilchrist under whom he played for the Deccan Chargers.
"Every captain's captaincy is different but I have really enjoyed playing under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Adam Gilchrist," Sharma said in an exclusive conversation with CricTracker on sidelines of LLC.
Additionally, he also named former England batter Ian Bell as a good skipper under whom he is playing for the Indian Capitals in the ongoing Legends League Cricket. The leg spinner feels all these three individuals give bowlers the freedom to bowl according to their choice.
"Ian Bell's captaincy in LLC is also similar to his. All three of them believe that the bowler should be allowed to bowl according to his choice. All three of them give the bowlers the freedom to bowl the way they want and this is what I like," he added.
