Legends League Cricket was started in 2022 and is in its third season which commenced on September 20. The league has garnered attention for its one-of-a-kind nature, where the former cricketers align under one umbrella and get into competitive cricket once again.

LLC 2024 is the third season and it has six teams - Manipal Tigers, Toyam Hyderabad, Southern Superstars, India Capitals, Konark Suryas Odisha, and Gujarat Greats - vying for glory. The league has players like Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Chris Gayle, TM Dilshan, Shikhar Dhawan, and Ian Bell playing for their respective teams.

LLC is currently being played only in India and the leagues see some former greats of world cricket converge in India to take part in it. The first leg of the current edition of the league was played in Surat and Jodhpur while the second and final leg of the tournament is being held in Jammu and Srinagar. Raheja also added that the aim is to take the league to smaller countries as youngsters will get inspired. Co-founder and CEO of LLC, Raman Raheja, said that the organisers are aiming to take LLC worldwide.

"Yes, we have already done a bit of it. We have partners in other countries so we started with Oman, then we started the franchise model that happens in India. Then we went to Qatar. This year we wanted to take the franchise season to Qatar, but unfortunately, the weather conditions were not permitting us. So, we will make LLC travel around the world. And especially to the countries and nations which are hungry for cricket and do not see too much of international cricket,” said Raheja in an exclusive conversation with CricTracker.

“So that's the category we are trying to fill. We don't want to compete with international cricket like Indian Premier League or anything but we want to go to the smaller countries because these legends bring in so much with them which the youngsters and the countries which are picking up the sport can really get inspired and make it big. So, we are doing our two cents in building the cricket community across,” he added.
