POTM Marcus Stoinis said:
"In these competitions, there are plenty of better opening batters better than me so I’ll leave it to them. It’s not just go go go, there were some bowlers we wanted to target and some bowlers we wanted to be more cautious against. There was a phase where I wasn’t able to hit the boundaries so it was great Pooran could come in and take the pressure off. Lots of ebbs and flows, just tried to keep it in control. You’re planning and structuring, you're not liking certain bowlers and you’re liking others more. I do think T20 cricket is changing, the scores that have been scored, the impact player role and how teams are taking on the bowlers. I’ve got a great relationship with the coach, me not getting a contract, I knew that long ago. It’s great to let the kids come in and get an opportunity, I’m happy to let them take my spot. But on the playing front, I’d like to play and contribute," Stoinis said.
Winning skipper KL Rahul said:
"Very special, especially when it is a game like that, Felt like we were way behind the game in the chase. Just to pull off a victory feels special. [Continuation from the previous win?] No, a fresh start. Different conditions. They got off to a good start and put pressure on the bowlers. I didn't think it was a 210 wicket. They batted really well. All credits to Stoinis. He was phenomenal to watch. It was not just power hitting, but was smart batting. [At No. 3] We wanted to be a lot more braver as a team. We had three games, a couple at home, and some away where we couldn't go past 170. We needed one power hitter in the top three. That was the thought process. [Being braver] I have also realised that T20 cricket has changed in the last couple of years. 170-180 does not always cut it. You have to go harder in the powerplay. The Impact player gives you depth and that gives you more freedom. I have not played T20 cricket in a long time. [Pooran up the order] There is no set plan. Apart from the openers everyone is set to go at any point. The last game, Pooran walked in at three. Hope I get the fielder of the award," Rahul said.
Losing skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad said:
"Tough pill to swallow, but good game of cricket. LSG played really well in the back end. We had the game in control till 13-14 overs, but Stoinis played a great innings. (On dew) It played a part, there was a huge amount of dew and it took our spinners out of the game. We could have otherwise controlled the game better and taken it deeper. But these are parts of the game, can’t control it. Jaddu is batting at number 4 since we lost the second wicket within the powerplay. (On Dube’s entry point) Our thinking is clear that after the powerplay if there is a wicket, Shivam will come out to bat. We can’t force batters to get out after. To be honest, I thought our target wasn’t enough, it was just about par because of the dew we’ve seen during our practice sessions. But credit to the way LSG batted," Gaikwad said.
LSG WIN BY SIX WICKETS
One-man army Marcus Stoinis destroyed Mustafizur Rahman in the final over to help LSG pick up an incredible victory. Looks like Fizz indeed has things to learn. Nevertheless, a memorable win for LSG, as they registered highest chase in IPL history at Chepauk.
17 runs needed to win
15 runs off Pathirana's final over. LSG are 194/4 and need 17 runs to win in the final over.
15 runs off the over
Much-needed six for LSG to finish the over. They are 179/4 after 18 overs. 32 runs needed to win in two overs.
Century for Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Stoinis completed his half-century in 56 balls. He has been one-man army for LSG tonight. Can he get the job done?
Six runs off the over
Brilliant over from Pathirana. He conceded just six runs. CSK waste their first review on the final delivery of the over. LSG are 164/4
Nicholas Pooran departs
It was Pathirana who once again gave the breakthrough. Pooran departed for 34 runs off 15 deliveries. LSG are 158/4
20 runs off the over
It was exactly what Lucknow needed. 20 runs off the over as LSG are 157/3 after 16 overs.
13 runs off the over
End of the 15th over, LSG are 137/3. 74 runs are required to win in five overs.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) continue their ongoing IPL 2024 (Indian Premier League) campaign by taking on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Both sides will lock horns at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, in game 39, on Tuesday, April 23.
Both Chennai and Lucknow have been in good form in the tournament so far and are real contenders to reach the playoffs as well. It is worth noting that Chennai Super Kings currently sit in fourth place in the standings with eight points in seven matches. The five-time champions have managed to register wins in four matches and have lost the remaining three.
Quite interestingly, they will be facing LSG after losing their previous clash with the same side. Lucknow managed to register a brilliant win at the Ekana Stadium, but the story could be different while playing at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, in Chennai.
Speaking of Lucknow Super Giants, the side sits just behind CSK in the IPL points table, occupying fifth place. Notably, even though the side is also level on points, they are behind the five-time champions owing to the net run rate factor. With a winning edge over Chennai in their previous game, Lucknow will be riding high on their confidence as they travel to Chennai for the return fixture. Besides, hosts CSK will be looking to serve a stern reply to their opposition after conceding a loss away from home.
Probable Playing XI:
