Babar Azam, Pakistan captain: The way Hyderabad has supported us, we've been happy and have enjoyed the hospitality. I am satisfied with the result. Credit to the bowlers, we started well and took wickets in the middle. We lost three wickets while batting, the way Rizwan and Shakeel started took it away. The way Saud built his innings shows his improvement in building an innings. Our bowlers bowled well in the first ten. They stuck to the plan.
Scott Edwards, Netherlands captain: It's a bit disappointing. Firstly, we bowled and fielded well. We thought they were par. We thought we had a good chance at 2 for 120. Probably a bit of instinct. So many of our bats bowl spin. De Leede is a quality cricket in all three departments. His innings was awesome, just needed someone to be with him. Not spoken to van Beek, need to see where he's at. This is a game that got away. We know they have quality bowlers but they took wickets which held us back.

We discussed that the pressure would transfer if we scored, which did happen. The last 2-3 months, I've been working hard. The two teams will face off at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Friday, October 06 at 2:00 PM (IST).
Pakistan haven’t got the best of the starts to the tournament as they’ve lost both of their warm-up matches heading into the league stage. They lost to New Zealand by five wickets in the first game and later on gave a tough fight to Australia in the second game but ended up losing against Australia by 14 runs.
Earlier, the Babar Azam-led side also didn’t have a memorable campaign in Asia Cup 2023 as they ended up getting knocked out in the Super Fours stage after losses against India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will now have the herculean task of lifting themselves up heading into the main event and turn things around with their performances. They’re known for being the unpredictable side which can peak at the right time and stun oppositions on their day.

On the other hand, both of the Netherlands’ warm-up fixtures ended in no result due to rain. In the first game vs Australia, they bowled well to restrict them to 166/7 in the rain-curtailed 23-over game. In the second innings, they were reeling at 84/6 in 14.2 overs when rain interrupted play and no further play was possible.
However, the Netherlands sealed their spot in the World Cup 2023 after sensational victories over West Indies and Scotland in the Cricket World Cup Qualifiers held in Zimbabwe. The Scott Edwards-led side will look to cause a few upsets in the mega event and progress to the semi-finals.
The match promises to be a mouth-watering affair as both teams will look to get their World Cup campaign off to a rollicking start with a win.
