Australia Women (AUS-W) will lock horns with England Women (ENG-W) in the first ODI on Sunday, January 12. Notably, the series opener will be held at the North Sydney Oval to kick-start the multi-format Women's Ashes 2025.

Australia will be high on confidence after registering back-to-back ODI series wins against India and New Zealand. They whitewashed India 3-0 in the first half of December at home. The Women in Yellow followed it up with a 2-0 win against the White Ferns in Wellington. Skipper Alyssa Healy, who is set to resume wicketkeeping duties after a long injury layoff, will look to guide her team to a positive start in the much-anticipated encounter.

England have been in fine form of late. They played a multi-format series against South Africa in the Rainbow Nation in November-December. The tourists won all three series, losing just one ODI in Kimberley. The ODI series ended 2-1 in favour of the European nation. They won the only Test by 286 runs and the T20I series by a 3-0 margin.

AUS-W vs ENG-W Probable Top Performers of the Match

Probable Best Batter: Annabel Sutherland

Annabel Sutherland has been in red-hot form in recent times. The all-rounder has scored 269 runs from the last five ODIs she has played. This includes a couple of enterprising centuries. Sutherland will be key for Australia in the middle overs as she can keep the scoreboard ticking with boundaries as well as quick running between the wickets.

Probable Best Bowler: Megan Schutt

Megan Schutt could be the bowler to watch out for on Sunday. Against India, she bagged eight wickets from three games at an average of 10. She can trouble England with her inswinging deliveries as well as the leg-cutter. Schutt's spell, especially with the new ball is going to be intriguing to watch.
