Perth Scorchers (SCO) and Sydney Sixers (SIX) have been the top two teams in the 2022-23 edition of the Big Bash League by far. The defending champions, Scorchers finished as the table leaders (22 points) in group stages while Sixers (21 points) finished second - seven points ahead of the third-placed Melbourne Renegades. Thus, when these two sides come face to face for a place in the final, it indeed is going to be a massive spectacle at the Perth Stadium on January 28.

Notably, the Ashton Turner-led side won their last three matches and interestingly, their last loss came against the Sixers. Since then, they have improved their batting, scoring 212 runs in their last game against the Renegades. Cameron Bancroft was sensational as the 30-year-old scored 95 off 50 deliveries while his opening partner Stevie Eskinazi scored 54 off 29 deliveries. Even though the middle order failed to capitalize to the start, they will not be worried now as the unit has done pretty well with the bat overall. However, the same cannot be said for the bowlers. Four of their bowlers leaked runs more than 8 per over and that needs to change if they want to win back-to-back titles.
Coming to the Sixers, veteran batter Steve Smith completely changed the dynamics of the three-time champions. He has played some spectacular shots and has done remarkably well in the limited time he has played so far. The Moises Henriques-led side is yet to lose a match with Smith on board and is coming on the back of back-to back victories in a row. Thus, they will come with a lot of confidence and with the hope of qualifying for yet another final.

Pitch Report
The surface at the Perth Stadium is a paradise for the batters to dominate. 200 runs can easily be scored in both innings and thus, it’s going to be a high-scoring game. The captain winning the toss should elect to field first, while the batting side should look for a minimum of 220 runs in the first innings.

Probable Best Performers from SCO vs SIX
Probable best batter: Steve Smith
Given his form, no one can come close to him at the moment. Batting at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 180.21, the former Australia skipper has scored 328 runs from just four matches. If he manages to keep playing in the same manner, it is going to be a very hard night for the Scorchers.
