The Group B games for the Champions Trophy have begun and the second game of the group is set to take place between arch-rivals Australia (AUS) and England (ENG) on Saturday, February 22 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. This is set to be one of the biggest matches of the tournament.

This will be a matchup that will be interesting since both sides will face challenging sub-continent conditions. The Australian team has already shown problematic signs before the tournament, losing the two-match ODI series against Sri Lanka after failing to counter the spinners. The Steve Smith-led side will look to prove their doubters wrong in the upcoming game against the Three Lions.

The England team has also not been in great form in the 50-over format where they have lost the last three ODI series. They will also be going into the tournament on the back of a 3-0 defeat against India where they also faced challenges. This will be an interesting battle between the two heavyweights of international cricket.

Pitch Report

Though the pitches in Karachi and Dubai have been very challenging the surface at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore has been known to be a paradise for the batters. The last match at the venue was played in the Tri-series where New Zealand chased down a 300+ total against South Africa. Though batting first has been the norm of the tournament so far the best thing to do on this wicket might be to bowl first.

The left-hander has been one of the best batters for Australia whether it has been red-ball or white-ball cricket. Travis Head's counter-attacking style has helped the Aussies win a lot of games and he will want to start this tournament with a bang as well.

Probable best bowler: Adil Rashid

The series in India might have been disappointing for most of the England players but Adil Rashid still managed to stand out. The leggie has proved himself to be a matchwinner due to his attacking line and lengths which results in a lot of wickets. Rashid will be the bowler to watch out for in the upcoming clash.
