In the second game on Sunday, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to host Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League 2024. Their clash is set to be played in Lucknow at the iconic Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. In their previous encounters, the two teams have played out some classics and fans anticipate another splendid match when these two teams face each other.
Lucknow Super Giants have been in stunning form and have bounced back from their opening game defeat with two consecutive victories in the next two Indian Premier League games. Their uncapped Indian players have become the talk of the town and would be looking to make the best use of them in the upcoming game against Gujarat Titans.
Gujarat Titans have not had the ideal start as they had in the past two seasons as they have won only two out of their opening four games in the Indian Premier League. They have some key issues that they might need to solve ahead of their clash against the Lucknow Super Giants tomorrow at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Ahead of this scintillating clash, let’s take a look at the top three battles to watch out for in this match.
Here are the top three player battles for the LSG vs GT for the 21th match of IPL 2024:
3. Shubman Gill vs Manimaran Siddharth
The Prince of Indian Cricket as the fans have named him, has picked up the form that won him the orange cap last year. Shubman Gill’s sublime 89 runs off 48 deliveries against Punjab Kings propelled his side to a massive 199-run score in the last game. The right-handed batter took his opportunities well and was dominant against spin. His running between the wickets was also sublime to watch and some fans termed it to be Kohli-esque.
The task of eliminating the opposition skipper might fall into the young hands of Manimaran Siddharth. The left-arm orthodox spinner has been in stunning form and got the key wicket of Virat Kohli in the last game. He’ll be once again handed the new ball and the team management would hope that he would get the crucial wicket of Shubman Gill.

2. Kane Williamson vs Mayank Yadav
Kane Williamson started just his second game for the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League during the side’s last encounter against the Punjab Kings. He made 26 runs from 22 balls in the last encounter and would be hoping to have a much bigger impact in the forthcoming clash.
However, the New Zealand skipper would be up against one of the fastest bowlers in the Indian Premier League. Mayank Yadav has become the name on every cricket fan’s lips after his dream debut and followed it up with an amazing spell against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. His main task in the upcoming game against Gujarat Titans might be to get the veteran batter back to the dugout.

1. KL Rahul vs Rashid Khan
The Lucknow Super Giants skipper has had a topsy-turvy start to the Indian Premier League. Rahul has not had the kind of IPL campaigns that he has been renowned for. He has been playing rather tamely and his main aim is to bat long and only put away loose deliveries. His approach may be questionable but once he gets going, he can be one of the most classy batters in the world.
His technique will need to be at its very best as he faces Rashid Khan tomorrow in Lucknow. Rashid’s form has also dipped off later and would be hoping to get back to his usual self on a wicket which supports spin to some extent. The vice-captain of the franchise might need to use all the variations in his skill set if he needs to get the scalp of the opposition skipper.
