Match 3 of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 will witness the clash between Afghanistan (AFG) and Bangladesh (BAN) on October 7. The match will be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, in Dharamsala.

Afghanistan are coming off a six-wicket win over Sri Lanka using the DLS method in their second warm-up game in Guwahati. Meanwhile, their first game against South Africa in Thiruvananthapuram was abandoned due to persistent rain. Moreover, Afghanistan have had a terrible campaign in the 2023 Asia Cup, having lost to Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the group stage to get eliminated from the tournament.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, won their first warm-up game against Sri Lanka by several wickets in Guwahati. However, they fell short in the second game, suffering a four-wicket loss (DLS method) against the defending champions, England, at the same stadium.
