England head coach Matthew Mott provided an update on Jos Buttlers injury and also hinted about the possible return of the batter in the last two T20I games against Pakistan. Buttler who was expected to lead the side in the seven match T20I series in Pakistan suffered a calf injury and Moeen Ali replaced him as the stand-in skipper of the side.

In the absence of Buttler, England have managed to win two games and have lost two games so far, after coming close to winning in the previous T20I. The 32-year-old has extraordinary numbers in the limited-overs format and had an excellent IPL season for the Rajasthan Royals. Given his match winning abilities, England will be hoping for Buttler to recover from his injury soon and return to the field.

We'll just try and see how we go and maybe in the last game or two: Matthew Mott

Mott mentioned that Buttler’s inclusion might be risky at the moment with the T20 World Cup coming up and the management doesn’t want to take a chance with him. He further hinted about providing him a chance in the last one or two games.

"With regard to Jos, he's still a while off, he's not a player we want to take a risk on at this stage, so close to the World Cup, and it was a reasonably significant injury that he had. So, he's champing at the bit for a game, but we'll just try and see how we go and maybe in the last game or two we might give him a chance," Mott said at the press conference after the fourth game.

The series is currently levelled at 2-2 with three games to be played and both teams have played their hearts out so far. The youngsters in the England side have stepped up and since, England have landed on Pakistan soil after a long period of time, the home side would be looking forward to clinch the historic series. The fifth T20I will be played on September 28 at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore.
