Hosts Sri Lanka (SL) and West Indies (WI) will square off against each other at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, in Dambulla, on Thursday, October 17, in the third and final T20I. The T20I series is all square at 1-1 and both teams will look to go for the jugular in the quest for silverware.
The West Indies won the first T20I convincingly as they chased down a 180-run target with five wickets and as many balls to spare in Dambulla. Brandon King and Evin Lewis smashed belligerent half-centuries to orchestrate the victory.
However, Sri Lanka bounced back strongly in the next encounter at the same venue. The match was played on the same surface which hosted the preceding fixture but it was much more dryer this time. The hosts posted 162/5 on the back of Pathum Nissanka's 49-ball 54 before Charith Asalanka used five spinners who exploited the conditions to perfection and dismantled the tourists for 89.

Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium Pitch Report
The Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium generally produces pitches which are good for batting. However, the second T20I saw a completely different pitch which helped Sri Lanka play to their strengths. A batting-friendly track will make the West Indies favourites and it is highly unlikely that the pitch for the third T20I will be any better than the one that hosted the second game. If the conditions remain similar to the second T20I, the toss is going to play a vital role and the captain who wins it will have no hesitation in batting first.

Probable Top Performers from SL vs WI
Probable Best Batter: Pathum Nissanka
Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka could be the best batter in the upcoming game against West Indies. With a knock of 54 runs in 49 deliveries in his last game, Nissanka showed that he can not only go hammer and tongs at the top of the order but also adjust his game according to the conditions. His compact technique against spinners will stand him in good stead if the pitch is similar to the one that hosted the second T20I.

Probable Best Bowler: Maheesh Theekshana
Maheesh Theekshana bowled brilliantly with the new ball in the second T20I and caused all sorts of problems for West Indies batters. He has the ability to run through batting orders with his mystery and guile. If the pitch offers him assistance, he can be a lethal weapon for Asalanka.
