Brisbane Heat Women (BH-W) will be facing Melbourne Stars Women (MS-W) in the fourth match of the Women's Big Bash League 2022 tournament at Harrup Park in Mackay on Saturday (October 15). Brisbane Heat lost the Eliminator clash against Adelaide Strikers last season and have started this edition with a narrow loss against Sydney Sixers in the first match.
They scored 141/8 while batting first after an impressive 49-run knock from the last season's leading run-scorer Georgia Redmayne. Captains Jess Jonassen and Jess Kerr took two wickets each but the Sixers managed to reach the target with four wickets and a ball remaining. Maitlan Brown smashed a big six against Georgia Voll when Sixers needed five runs from the last two balls to win.
Melbourne Stars finished the last season in the fifth position with just five wins from the 14 group-stage matches. Last season's leading run-scorer Elyse Villani has left the club and captain Meg Lanning is not available for the entire tournament this season. They have drafted in star Indian batter Jemimah Rodriguez and English all-rounder Alice Capsey as replacements. Both teams have won two matches from the last five meetings in between them but Brisbane Heat are favorites to win this fixture.
