England (ENG) lock horns with the West Indies (WI) in the second T20I in the five-match series at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados on Monday, November 11.
The tourists registered a one-sided win in the first T20I at the same venue as they made light work of a 183-run target thanks to Phil Salt's blistering century and a power-packed fifty from Jacob Bethell. The West Indies bowlers dismissed Will Jacks and Jos Buttler early in the piece but couldn't break the third wicket partnership between Salt and Bethell, which yielded 107 runs off 61 balls.
Salt smashed an unbeaten 103 off 54 balls, while Bethell remained not out on 58 off 36 deliveries. England reached the target with eight wickets and 19 balls to spare.
Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, and Andre Russell got off to scintillating starts but failed to convert them into big scores. The hosts lost half their side for 69 in the ninth over but showed signs of recovery with a 39-run partnership between Pooran and Russell. However, they lost three wickets in quick succession and got reduced to 117/8 in the 15th over.
Gudakesh Motie and Romario Shepherd stitched an excellent counter-attacking partnership at the backend to take the Caribbean side to a decent score. However, Salt and Bethell made a mockery of the target with their fearless batting. The top and the middle-order batters for the West Indies will have to step up in the second game.

Pitch Report
Judging by the trend at the Kensington Oval of late, the pitch could be tricky for the batters in the initial overs but it will ease out as the game progresses. Winning the toss and opting to bowl first would be the way to go. Hitting the big shots from the get-go could be a tough task and that is why it will be important for the set batters to convert their starts into substantial scores.

Probable Top Performers
Probable Best Batter: Phil Salt
Salt just loves batting in the Caribbean. He has amassed 682 runs from 16 T20I innings at a staggering average of 56.83 and an awe-inspiring strike rate of 179. The wicketkeeper-batter has amassed three centuries and two fifties during his time in the West Indies. Salt would want to continue from where he left in the first T20I.
Probable Best Bowler: Adil Rashid
Adil Rashid bowled an excellent spell in the first T20I. He used all his experience to bag three important wickets in the middle overs for England. Rashid finished with figures of 3/32 from his four overs. The West Indies batters should come out with better plans to counter the wily leg-spinner on Monday.
