Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer feels that a big innings is around the corner for Pakistan skipper Babar Azam in the Asia Cup 2022. In the three innings, Babar has scores of 9,10 and 14, which is way below his usual standards. The right-hander has been quite consistent in the format for years now and his conversion rate is up with the best.

It is tough to keep him quite for too long and with the T20 World Cup just a month away, it will be important for Pakistan to see Babar back among the runs. After three poor scores, he has now slipped to the 2nd position in the ICC T20I rankings for batters with his opening partner Mohammad Rizwan taking the top spot.

In the last one year we have learnt how to ease down the pressure: Babar Azam

Meanwhile, coming to the India-Pakistan games, Babar has had the upper hand so far as he has won two out of the three matches in the rivalry. The 27-year-old has marshalled his troops quite well and has been spot in terms of leading the side. He recently viewed in on the important of handling pressures in India-Pakistan games which has had an effect on their results for years, especially in World Cups.

"All India-Pakistan games are high-pressure games but in the last one year we have learnt how to ease down the pressure, how to handle that pressure and results are there," Babar told reporters on Tuesday.

"What we have learnt is how to handle that pressure and how to take less pressure. That has worked. If you see we fought till the fourth ball of the last over in the first game by taking the game deep. You need to learn to make progress and we are a team in progress. This victory over India will raise our confidence not only in the remaining games of the Asia Cup, but also in the coming World Cup," he added.
