Sunrisers Hyderabad openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma butchered Delhi Capitals bowlers at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday. The duo were at their lethal best as they opened the innings together. They created a record of highest highest-ever powerplay total in the Indian Premier League’s history. Their onslaught saw SRH garner 125 runs in just six overs.
Head and Abhishek have been one of the successful opening pair in the ongoing IPL 2024. Thanks to their quickfire starts, SRH has broken several records. The team even bettered their record for the highest IPL total in days scoring 287 runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The southpaw has opened up on his on-field camaraderie with the Australia opener. He also credited their off-field gel up as one of the reasons for their success.
"Obviously really joyful to watch him and we've been talking a lot off the field and that is really helping. He is someone that I was really looking forward to bat with throughout the season and even the Punjab boys know that I used to really admire Travis Head in all three formats and luckily we got him in our side. I have put in a lot of hardwork before this tournament in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and that is helping me a lot," Abhishek said in the post-match press conference.
