Former Australia captain Aaron Finch is in awe of the Pat Cummins and Co's performance in the ongoing ODI World Cup. The Kangaroos beat New Zealand by five runs in a high-scoring thriller at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala on October 28 to register their fourth win in the tournament.

Following the win, Finch stated that Australia have started to take shape despite making a dismal start in the competition. He also said that it has happened because players have trusted each other's capabilities. The former cricketer added that Australia have some serious power waiting waiting on the sidelines, mentioning the likes of star all-rounders Marcus Stoinis and Cameron Green.

"They're really starting to take shape. It is the confidence that the players have in their own game and each other's game," Finch told BBC Sport. "And when you look at the players not in the Australia XI at the minute there's some serious power in Marcus Stoinis and Cameron Green who could potentially come back into that middle order."

Speaking about the match, Australia lost the toss and were asked to bat first. They got off to a flying start, with Travis Head, who recovered from an injury, and David Warner's 175-run opening partnership. However, Glenn Phillips ended it by dismissing Warner for 81 off 65, which included five boundaries and six maximums.

Meanwhile, Head played a blistering knock of 109 off just 67 in his first outing in the tournament. His knock was studded with ten boundaries and seven sixes. Warner and Head's blazing start followed by contributions from Glenn Maxwell and Pat Cummins alongside others guided Australia to 388 in 49.2 overs, their highest-ever ODI total against the Kiwis.

The five-time champions then defended the score in the final-over thriller to extend their winning run after suffering defeats in their first two matches against India and South Africa.
