The shooting of the biopic on late Australian cricketer Shane Warne has come to a screeching halt after the actors involved in the same landed in hospital following a mishap while shooting a steamy scene.
The Australian actor Alex Williams, who is playing Shane Warne in the miniseries, was shooting a scene with Marny Kennedy, who is playing the role of Warne’s wife, Simone Callahan. However, both actors were rushed to the emergency department after a steamy scene went wrong, and they ended up being bandaged up and bruised.
Marny Kennedy came forward to reveal the details of the incident, and she reflected on how the accident actually happened and how their injuries are quite serious.
"It was during a little make out scene from when they [Shane and Simone] were younger, we were going down a corridor and we were meant to push into the bedroom and land on the bed, but we both completely missed the bed. We ended up sitting in the emergency room together, he with a bandage around his head and me with my wrist strapped," Marny Kennedy told Australia's Daily Telegraph.
Furthermore, she also revealed that despite the injuries being quite severe, the crew members managed to see the funny side of the incident as both actors were rushed to the hospital, still in their costumes. "It was just Alex and I with our bleached hair, fully still in wardrobe, sitting there surrounded by elderly residents," Kennedy added.
Named ‘Warnie’, the miniseries about the legendary spinner’s life will feature many incidents from his life, and will also cover his sensational rise to the pinnacle of world cricket, and many controversies as well.
Furthermore, Warne’s relationship with English actress Liz Hurley will also be depicted in the series, with Shanti Kali playing the role of the actress. Warne passed away in 2022 due to a heart attack while he was on a vacation in Thailand. The news of his demise left the cricket world in a state of shock.
